Technilube.com Updates

This is just an update page showing behind the scenes info and changes on what is making this site work and when they happen. Partly for my own records should something “break,” but also for those really interested.

10/13/2026

  • Added an entry about the new Amsoil bottle label for the Formula 4-Stroke Powersports 0W-40.
  • But then I broke my blog trying to tweak something I saw showing where I didn’t want it. After a bunch of backend “breaking” and getting something that didn’t seem to look right, I ended up fixing it back to what it was and adding some other backend tweaks to isolate blog ONLY entries. So now the homepage will show cards for Blog ONLY, Event Coverage, AMSOIL News, New Products & Updates, and Industry News. The Right menu still has the catch all News and will show the latest entry from which every category it’s in. Selecting any of these will open the Blog page where all are combined for easy scrolling. This was what I broke making them isolated and had to rework and fix and also not make the Homepage Card View a catch all. I also broke my past years and had to correct that too.

Selecting the Blog from the top Menu also takes you direct to the Blog page, but the drop downs for each category will then open ONLY that category list. However selecting a topic to read from one of those pages will open it within the blog again to move around. Does any of that make sense? I really don’t expect anyone to be reading this, so who cares if it does? It just works for now until I break it again.
  • Moved the Cards around on the Homepage again into a better order, I think. Top is now my blog and event coverage, probably what will update the most. Next line is Amsoil specific now: Amsoil News and Product Updates. The rest remains.

10/10/2026

Went to my first car show in years where I didn’t have a booth and could just walk around. Made a post about it: Family Fright Night Car Show.

10/09/2026

  • Signed up for the Daytona Swap Meet I’ve done for several years during Biketoberfest and posted it.
  • Added “Upcoming Shows” going back to 2024, about the time Facebook deleted my page with those past listing. The will show up as “Attended Shows” now. Will keep adding more for a record, but next step will be adding the Coverage with Galleries that I stopped posting in detail after Facebook deleted the site after the February 2024 Mustang Show.

10/08/2026

Right Menu Updates:

  • Added the current Amsoil Promo to the Right Menu. This should update when new ones come out and I update the dates. If a promo expires and there isn’t a new one, it will be empty.
  • Deleted some of the “filler” graphics on the right menu from when the site was started. Now that more content is coming along, it was looking cluttered.
  • Organized this section a little differently: more topical info near the top, while “Spotlight” will have random posts from the category listed (ie – Event Spotlight could display any show from any year).
  • Also Blog & News combines several sections and will show latest entry from the Blog, Industry News, Amsoil News, and New & Updated products. When going directly to the Blog page, it shows like this too. The latest entry from all of these will be here.

Homepage Updates:

  • Reworked the homepage completely. Hierarchy should now have more topical info in the two column sections and lesser ones will be lower in three columns. The should also all now display correctly from Desktop, Tablet, or Movile.
  • Originally had one catch all blog like the right side, but thought I’d separate these to have the latest info from the relevant menu sections. Now there will be one showing the latest entry from Blog, Industry News, Amsoil News, New Products & Updates.
  • Also the Event & Show Coverage (new header) will feature the latest entry from there versus random like before.

Thought process today was showing the promo to the right and when landing on the site seeing all the latest posts on the homepage. Then can go to the one of interest or use the standard menu. The home page is the window to the latest info, while the right side now will have important links near the top, but have random posts display that could be of interest.

  • To go with the Promo on the right is the page that will open explaining it in more detail along with the direct links to AMSOIL to take advantage of it.

10/07/2026

  • With a new Hurricane threatening in the Gulf and heading toward the panhandle coast again, wrote a quick blog: Is Isaias Coming Our Way? It has some preparation tips and lubrication ideas for equipment.
  • Added a few past show coverage articles as I continue to add shows lost to Facebook. I’m working backwards as I find the pictures.

10/06/2026

My last two blogs I realized are more about the industry, so thought this would be appropriate to start that section of the page with them. Since the one also focuses on AMSOIL, it crosses into there as well. While these sections are small and look repetitive now, as things expand they will get more defined.

09/21/2026

  • Added the Cold Weather page from my legacy site with new updated material added.
  • Added the Hot Weather page from my legacy site with new updated material added.
  • Added the Car Show For Hope coverage and gallery

Domain made it over and is working. All links appear to still work and forwarding pages. Removed the block discouraging search engines and submitted the Index to Google to use for updating. Some redirecting may still be taking place, but right now the NEW has replaced the OLD.  And if you are reading this: WELCOME!

09/15/2026

  • Rebuilt all the old magazine article that are now in the Media menu.
  • Added the 301 forwards to the new articles and other pages.
  • Removed some menu items for now until I have content for them
  • Made a new widget to pull in the Facts and Comparison items; some of the current ones came in from these older articles. While the article was old, the information is still the same.
  • Some updates and articles now appear in that magazine section, Amsoil history, and Learn section. My backend designs are now making it easy to change one term and make new entries appear in various areas they might relate to.
  • Used the new widget on the home page as well replacing the Heritage widget.
  • The bigger task:
    • Made the new legacy.technilube.com domain on my old host that houses the old site to keep it relevant, updated the link in my menu to point to that.
    • Changed DNS entries to shift the domain over to the new site. Now it’s a waiting game

09/14/2026

  • Broke the site theme template I had made, and spent two days figuring out where before getting it to function correctly after finding the corrupted template setting.
  • Site is live, but I’ve not made it search friendly yet or moved the domain over.
  • Built a 404 Landing Page
  • Made lots of 301 links so when the domain shifts, things point to new info, if it exists: old diesel page points to the new diesel page, old motorcycle page to new motorcycle page, etc. Old expired pages or ones with products no longer avilable will fall to the 404 page.
  • Added two topics about oil:
  • Copied over the old media pages featuring article excerpts from magazines and other sources I used to collect and share when AMSOIL was still an obscure name but got some “new product” exposure. More of a nostalgic and historical reference.

09/12/2026

Finished entering all products currently available and the proper backend info needed for Content Views to populate the Product and Application menus correctly (hopefully).

08/29/2026

Today was the day I decided it was time to take what I had online for testing.

  • Organized internal files to prepare for upload
  • Added some more live widgets to the side menu and main landing for the event coverage, blogs, and short cuts to the PC, Retail, and Commercial Account info for now.
  • Uploaded local working site host server and testing. Fixed broken plugins so site works and one shortcode code that was accidentally deleted in the blog section.

Site appears to be functioning like it was when hosted and built locally now. Will be retesting all the links before adding more.

08/25/2026

Decided to add the event coverage entries into the Blog and ended up needing to build my own blog logic to work (with AIs fragmented help). Seems the way the site is being built, the “automated” entries broke here using widget or the default WordPress system. After trial and error, a system was figured out to resemble a standard blog within the main window with left menus to navigate within and the “brains” to display it.

Since my original blog from years ago was lost a few years and there seemed to be no way for my provider to retrieve it without the proper SQL info, I thought everything was lost. I discovered Wayback Machine had scanned it a few times and many entries were stored, or at least least partial.

After hours I was able to recreate my old blog going back to 2006, even if just article placeholders until I can maybe find the original material, if it’s still anywhere. But I wanted to show the history activity, even though it is old info and many of the products references I am no longer involved with and/or AMSOIL has stopped making.

08/17/2026

Built out the the Show Coverage and Reviews. This will contain all shows, whether I am a vendor or just visit, with comments about the show along with galleries and videos from the event. This is what Facebook lost.

I made entries for all shows for 2026 and 2013 has a test case for the gallery. This was a lost entry on Facebook. Over time I intend to add more previous events with galleries, the 15+ years lost from my Facebook exposure.

08/10/2026

Fixed Upcoming Shows Menu so that when I enter a show it appears here as well as other widgets on the site, mainly the right side. Once the show date has passed, it automatically moved it down into the Attended Shows for a record, should anyone be interested in the info. These are shows I have a booth at

08/05/2026

Completely removed the site, went back to building within LocalWP until I’m ready to upgrade or move to a more WordPress friendly host.

07/24/2026

Loaded what I had of the site done showing my history, Amsoil History, Contact forms, buying options, etc. Very basic. Also a total build from scratching making my own theme since any premade option I was using limited me to what they had, not what I wanted, and wanted to charge money.

Site crashed my host provider. Seems what I have had there for the cost can handle my old 2005 php site, and even though it handled other WordPress installs, but suddenly trying to use this new one with Elementor broke all of them.

07/01/2026

A complete rebuild of my old Technilube.com website. It’s be long needed and the old landing page I was using to replace this stopped working January of this year. I’ve long been planning to build this out using WordPress, but it also had been years since working with it, so it was an almost new animal once I got started.

Intially I started using AI, beginning with ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas and what could be done. As it promised me the Lamborghini I realized after many days of accomplishing nothing that it had no idea to help create any of the other discussed. It was always asking if tires were round until I finally asked it if it knew how and it’s roundabout way, it didn’t. This lead me to the promised of Perplaxity AI and it’s been much better, although I have found limitation in it’s forgetfulness too.

However it was able to direct me on what I needed to do and learn to get my project off the ground.

It’s been ongoing and I’ve been building inside LocalWP. I had a major show scheduled at the end of July and wanted my business cards to open an evening partially done new site versus my old 2005ish one that hadn’t been touch since around 2010.

What you are at is the work in progress. I have some lofty goals planned for the next few years, but for now I’m trying to pull in lost into. Facebook deleted my original page I shared events and photos from, so they will now be hosted here. Over time I will be adding more as I find more pictures. I’m also adding these with comments from the shows and into the blog I’ve created from scratch. There will be the option to read about the shows, or see them within the blog. Ultimate goal is I enter information, either shows, comments, product news, etc. and it will be in the areas it pertains to so you can see it while looking your particular interest.
