AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota, hosts University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs hockey, concerts, trade shows, and other events throughout the year. Keeping the facility ready for each event requires ongoing maintenance, from rink equipment and event hardware to groundskeeping machinery and winter vehicles.
At the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), the maintenance team uses a variety of AMSOIL lubricants, cleaners, and protective products to maintain equipment in conditions that range from icy and wet to dusty and cold.
Protecting Moving Parts and Preventing Rust
The team uses AMSOIL MP Metal Protector on concert-chair cart casters, door hinges, and locks to help displace moisture, prevent rust, and keep moving parts operating smoothly.
For the Zamboni ice edger, which works in a consistently cold and wet environment, the team uses AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Metal Protector to help protect against corrosion.
Products for Event Operations
Preparing the arena for different events requires equipment that can be maintained and turned around efficiently. The team uses AMSOIL Silicone Spray on skid steers, plow trucks, and hockey-board hardware. Its dry lubrication helps avoid attracting dust, and it can make removing and reinstalling hockey dasher boards easier.
AMSOIL Glass Cleaner is used on mirrors, windows, and viewing panels to keep glass clean and clear for visitors.
Groundskeeping and Winter Maintenance
The facility’s outdoor maintenance also relies on AMSOIL products. AMSOIL 10W-30 100% Synthetic Small-Engine Oil is used in zero-turn lawn mowers, while AMSOIL SABER Professional 100% Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is used in string trimmers and leaf blowers.
