A First-Time Vendor Experience
Peace, Love & Vans was a great event and a completely different experience from simply attending as a visitor. I stopped by for one day last year to see what it was all about and meet a friend who had come down from Georgia. With hundreds of vans arriving from across the country, it was easy to see why the event has such a loyal following.
This year, I set up an AMSOIL booth to talk with attendees about using extended drain intervals to help protect their engines as they travel long distances through changing climates. I also hoped to enjoy some of the music and take in more of the overall event atmosphere.
More Than a Van Show
There was plenty happening throughout the weekend, including music, seminars, and opportunities to meet people from all over the country. Because I was running the booth, I was not able to attend the seminars, but I did get out early in the mornings to walk through the rows of vans.
I enjoyed stopping to talk with people as they made breakfast or gathered over morning coffee—so much so that I forgot to take many photos during those walks. I did, however, capture a few images of the bands performing one evening.
Looking Ahead
The show was quieter than I had hoped from a booth standpoint, although a few people did stop by to talk. Even so, it was a worthwhile experience and gave me a better appreciation for everything Peace, Love & Vans has to offer.
I expect to return next year, but I may attend as a participant rather than a vendor. That would give me more time to join the seminars, meet new people, enjoy the outdoor bar, listen to the music, and experience more of the event itself.
