Welcome to the New Technilube.com Blog and Site!

If you found this post, you have discovered the Technilube.com blog on the new site. Welcome.

Technilube.com has been online since the early-to-mid 2000s. For several years, I regularly updated the site while helping customers with their AMSOIL needs. At times, though, I spent so much effort acting as the webmaster that I was not spending enough time reaching new customers and building the business.

A Change of Pace

Around 2010, personal and career changes, helping others with their businesses, and new local film ventures pulled me away from being an active AMSOIL dealer. I still supported existing customers, answered questions, and attended a few shows, but I was no longer actively pursuing new opportunities the way I had before.

Eventually, I replaced the original site with an AMSOIL template site so visitors could still find current product information and up-to-date links.

Why I Am Rebuilding

Several years ago, I began shifting from passive mode back into active mode. One thing that continued to bother me was having an outdated website. I tried restarting my old newsletter, but email services flagged my efforts to reconnect with subscribers as possible spam.

Then Facebook removed my AMSOIL page after it had been online for more than 15 years. That page had become my main place to share the shows I attended, photos from those events, and updates with followers. Losing those posts, photos, and connections was frustrating, but it also gave me a reason to put more energy into building a site that I control.

What You Will Find Here

This new site is intended to be part information resource, part event coverage, and part social-media home base.

I will be posting:

  • Upcoming shows where I plan to have a booth
  • Photos, notes, and stories from events I attend
  • Coverage of car, truck, motorcycle, marine, racing, and specialty-market events
  • AMSOIL product information and technical topics
  • Customer vehicles, experiences, and possible “Stories From the Show” features

Even when I am simply visiting a show rather than exhibiting, I may share photos and highlights here. If you see me at an event, please stop by and say hello. If you are using AMSOIL, I would especially enjoy hearing about your vehicle and possibly featuring it in a future post.

Built to Grow

The new Technilube.com is organized differently from my original site. My goal is to spend less time rebuilding pages by hand and more time adding useful information.

As I publish new posts, the site should automatically organize related content into the appropriate areas. For example, an article about a diesel product may appear in the main blog as news while also showing up in diesel- or technology-related sections of the site.

Over time, I will continue expanding the site’s product, technical, event, gallery, and customer-story sections. The goal is a site that grows naturally as I add information, while allowing me to stay focused on helping customers and sharing interesting content.

Bringing Back Older Posts

Although this is the first blog post on the rebuilt site, you will also find articles dating back to 2006. That was the beginning of my original blog, which ran until about 2011 and included technical information, product discussions, and other topics I was working on at the time.

The original Technilube.com site reflected the tools and design standards of its time. This rebuilt version is designed to make product information, event coverage, archived articles, and new updates easier to find and maintain.

Unfortunately, the original blog was lost after a hosting issue affected the files needed to operate it. Later, I found portions of the old site through the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Some older posts can be recreated from archived full articles and photos I still have; others may only have the excerpts that were saved.

I will continue restoring and updating older posts whenever possible. If an older subject is still useful today, I may also rewrite it as a new article with current information.

Thanks for Visiting

The new site is still a work in progress, so please give me a little time as I continue building it out. Look around, come back for updates, and I hope you enjoy what you find here.
