2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ
I started wanting a truck but wasn’t ready for a Suburban or Escalade size, and I was also looking at a few pickup options like the F-150, but the Lightning was still out of my league. I always liked the look of the Blazer, especially the Extreme edition, and while I was pricing those out I discovered the Trailblazer. I found one at a dealership in the right color with the LTZ package, including 4WD, and it looked like it could even be fun to take off-road one day. I went to look at it and traded in my Grand Voyager that same day.
I enjoyed the ride and the feel of having a truck, and it could haul just about everything the Grand Voyager could. It became my daily driver while my Mustang was parked. Around that time, my AMSOIL business had shifted to a more passive role, so I was doing fewer shows and more support work for my accounts and customers. I was getting more active in local film production, and the Trailblazer ended up carrying supplies to and from set locations while also serving in that side of my life. It also appeared in a few of the films I was in.
Like all my vehicles, it received the AMSOIL conversion treatment right after purchase. I never had any fluid-related issues, but the vehicle’s history had enough neglect that the repair list started to feel longer than the fun list. In the end, I had one of those moments of insanity and traded my heavy hauler for my two-seat Crossfire Roadster.
