1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager
While not as exciting as some of the other vehicles I had owned, my 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager did a lot for me while I had it. It was the first year of this body style, and while it had a few design-related issues, it still served me well. I inherited it from my parents in 2002 with very low mileage, around 25,000 miles, and it was originally equipped for my handicapped mom. My dad or I had mostly used it for local driving and trips with her, so it already had a family history before it became mine.
I expected better gas mileage from a 6-cylinder compared to my V8 Mustang, but that wasn’t really the case. What it did offer was room, comfort, and the ability to haul car show supplies that my Mustang never could. My booth expanded to tables, a popup tent, and all my display items, and the Grand Voyager became my work horse while the Mustang stayed my fun car. I converted the van to AMSOIL right away and wanted it to keep going strong once the warranty was over.
I rarely took many pictures of it by itself, but it was a dependable part of that season of life. Eventually I wanted to upgrade to a different hauler, and in 2010 I traded it in on my Trailblazer.
