My First Van

1989 Ford Econoline E-150 Conversion Van

This van became my practical daily and show vehicle after the Laser was damaged. I needed something reliable, roomy enough for hauling AMSOIL supplies to my shows, and comfortable enough for multi-day events to sleep in, so the van fit the job well.

As soon as I got it, I converted it to AMSOIL and noticed an immediate difference in how smoothly it ran. The engine had 95,000 miles, and it felt like it had not been kept up with proper maintenance. The black oil that came out during my first drain seemed to confirm that theory. But the AMSOIL change made a noticeable difference right away. I also learned a lot about how well AMSOIL could hold up under hard use and high temperatures.

After a few years of repairs and setbacks, including overheating issues, I finally decided it was time to move on in August 2001. I wanted a car again. Even so, the van remains a memorable part of that chapter in my life and part of the reason I purchased one again many years later.
