Saw this one at a show a few years back. At some point those of us who have been interested in our vehicles and watched late night infomercials about oil additives have seen the unbelievable claims some companies have tried to promote. In some cases they show an engine running forever with no oil in it. [...] It has been a while since making a post here and writing my newsletter, for those of you receiving that. The last quarter of the year saw several new changes for me that pulled my attention away from here and my other writings. As the new year rolled around I promised myself I would get [...] Okay, if any of you are on Twitter getting automotive feeds, there has been a lot of hype and chatter going around since GM announced that their Volt will get an estimated 360 MPG. Not to be outdone, Nissan jumped on the bandwagon soon after announcing that their Leaf will get 367 MPG and [...] October 1st a new law will become active in North Carolina banning the disposal of used oil filters by individuals and companies in the trash. They will now need to be disposed of properly in order to keep them from winding up in landfills and causing contamination from the oil still trapped within. A reminder [...] On of the transportation e-newsletters I get had this information posted this morning I thought I’d share with everyone: Obama Signs ‘Cash for Clunkers’ Bill Just letting everyone know that all of your orders and shipments are diligently inspected before going out. Here you can see Sammie making sure that the Post Office is producing quality shipping material to protect your products. If it doesn’t pass Sammie’s stringent requirements, he won’t let it leave. Another report out today in the Lube Report by Lubes-n-Greases on a safety recall for some GM owners: Oil Leak Sparks GM Recall This article came out today in the Lube Report I get. This goes along with the Gear Lube White Paper tests from my Web Site that Amsoil did comparing other brands, where many of them were out of spec right from the bottle. They claimed to meet these specs, and then when tested they didn’t. [...] California recently has started a new campaign to educate drivers that 3000 mile oil drain intervals are outdated thoughts. They released a report noting that many car manufacturers are now recommending 5000+ drain intervals as the standard, or use onboard computers to monitor the life of the oil.
